- Amazingly, last night’s “hack chunks of my hair with blunt scissors to force myself to get my hair cut” strategy actually worked! This afternoon, after looking in the mirror, I realized I had to do something, so I went to Jean Louis David and got my hair cut. For the record, I did not go to Jean Louis David because I was fooled by the faux French name, it’s just the hair place that’s closest to my apartment…
There was a bit of an awkward moment when the hairdresser asked me if I wanted to keep the same hair “shape”, and I had to explain that I did want my hair to be the same shape, except where I had slashed off chunks of hair. She was horrified and confused by this. This awkward conversation went on for a few minutes, before I realized that faux French hair girl spoke neither French nor English, and she was not really horrified, just confused by the use of a language that wasn’t Spanish. Then I said “medium, please”. She said “OK, medium?” I said, “yes, please”.
The hair cut turned out great, which is to say, utterly unremarkable and boring.
- The infection in my left ear has cleared up, and I didn’t even have to van Gogh it off! It took about a week to stop hurting, and it made me hear a high-pitched buzz for a few days. I read somewhere that when you hear a high-pitched buzz, it means your hearing cells are dying. So maybe I’m going deaf?
I’d also like to offer a special thanks to everybody who told me to cut off my ear while I was wracked by pain. I just hope that one day I can be there for you like you were there for me…

you so funny.
I am glad your ear infection as cleared up.
I hate going to a hair cutter person that can’t speak my language. How can they figure out what I want? So they guess and I end up with something I hate.
Blech.
Glad you got the motivation you needed!
see what a little motivation will do for you??
I am glad your ear is healing up… Now, could you tell my hearing to come back to normal….because all I can here is Wah wah wah wah wahhhhhh…. the flu is kicking my behind…
and I hate it.
Personally I am glad you didn’t Van Gogh your ear…you never know what might have happened to it…someone might have stolen it and sold in on ebay… ;0)
have a good evening.
Tina
lol!
btw – i’ve seen bob’s haircut – it looks awesome.
damn. here i was hoping you’d have to amputate.
Thanks for the help with Quicktime. I’m going to reinstall Quicktime (bundled with Itunes) now. I wonder if this is an issue with the firefox extensions. I guess I shall see.
I have no idea how the word “Medium” ended up with you having a great hair cut! Lucky you!
pix plz. and man im upset, i was gonna give you a thousand e props but someone beat me to it.
/sad
You should’ve shaved it all off and gone bald.
Umm…. as someone with only 1/2 of my “ear cells” left… I urge precaution with the ears. This may sound like school marm talk, but my “oh it’s nothing” led to a Happy 25th b-day present of 2 open skull surgeries and holes in my skull. You’ve been officially warned.
you actually hacked off your hair? i’ll never do that eventhough my haircut is long overdued.
I would’ve been extremely doubtful of getting a haircut from someone who’s not a good friend of my parents and didn’t speak my language. My Spanish is pretty mediocre, after all.
testing minis!
Xanga! have you thought about creating an application for Apple’s
iPhone that would allow users to post a Xanga blog on the go while
being able to post pictures right from your iPhone? I thought it would
be a great idea that all members would love because it is very hard to
try and add a post on Xanga without a computer. Thank you!
I go to a beauty school to get my hair cut, and then afterwards, they have their supervisor come study your head and critique it. I usually overhear the words “horribly misshapen”, but I think they’re just talking about my head.
